Ugly pantry before.
When we moved into our home almost 7 years ago, this room was the laundry room. It's right off the kitchen and I never liked how the laundry spilled into the entry way and kitchen. So we decided to make it a utility/pantry. But I always referred to it as the "trash room," because that's what it looked like. It was well overdue for a change! So I teamed up with the awesome folks at Keim Lumber & decided to design my dream farmhouse pantry!
-
This room was messy, cluttered and not easy on the eyes! -
-
-
I sketched up a vision for this room to make it more functional and pretty! -
I forgot to snap a picture before we took the half door down. We could always see into this messy room from the living room and I hated it. -
-
-
We started by taking down the metal on the walls and removing the cabinet. -
-
-
-
Once that was all done, we started to install the faux shiplap!
-
I wanted that shiplap look but not the price tag, so we used 1/4" luan plywood to achieve that look for less! -
-
The luan plywood was ripped down into strips and painted white. -
-
We installed it by nailing it to the studs. -
So happy with how it turned out!
-
We updated this old fixture for a more modern look and better lighting. -
This one with the daylight bulb changed the lighting dramatically and we love it.
-
The faux shiplap made a world of a difference. -
-
We decided to keep the water lines for the washer accessible in case we ever needed them. -
-
-
-
My brother in law built me the custom cubby I wanted for small appliances & baskets for organization and storage. -
Then we added a custom top that will match all the floor to ceiling shelves.
-
-
Time to install shelves! -
